How to Cover Up Facial Acne

If you are an acne sufferer, Acne Home Remedies, you know how hard it is to show your face if your face has a full blown break out or even one monster pimple. Some people choose to just crawl under their covers and make and excuse to stay in. Remember, a lot of people suffer with acne and it doesn’t have to be a social life killer. You can do many things to reduce the frequency of your breakouts and/or eliminate them in full, but in this particular article we are going to talk about how to cover up facial acne.

The first things first, you need to purchase a good, long lasting foundation. When it comes to foundation it’s a good idea not to go on the cheaper side, however, that’s not to say don’t look for anything on sale! Estee Lauder provides great, long lasting foundations that also are decent for your skin. Clique is also a good, solid choice foundation. If you must buy from a supermarket, go for a 24 hour long lasting Revlon.

Before applying your foundation, you want to gently exfoliate your skin. Good old Apricot scrub can be used daily without over drying the area. After you have washed and exfoliated, apply an oil free moisturizer. It’s important to still moisturize your skin, even if you have acne. Many make this mistake and it costs their skin. Keep up to your moisturizing!

Now that we have prepped your face, it is up to you first whether or not you use a make-up PRIMER. This creates a smooth surface for your skin to apply your foundation for acne scars. Some find primers very cakey and messy, so this step is completely optional.

Use a simple concealer (or you can spot rub your foundation) to cover up any existing acne. Let this dry before applying foundation all over your face.

You can now use either your fingers or a make-up sponge to apply foundation all over your face. So that you don’t miss any areas, it’s a good idea to either work from the forehead down in a circular motion or from the chin up in a circular motion. It may go without saying but always do this in front of a mirror!

When you are finished applying your foundation make sure to check all commonly missed areas like the temples, jaw line and tip of the nose.

If you have severe acne or you are worried about it showing through your foundation, bring it with you in your purse or carry a spot concealer.
